MACS Student Learning Outcomes
- Students will understand the drivers of physical, chemical, geological, and biological processes that shape marine and coastal systems, with a focus on the Salish Sea and the Pacific Northwest region.
- Students will be able to find and critically evaluate scientific literature, utilize modern marine science technology, analyze data, interpret results, and participate in designing and carrying out studies to answer scientific questions.
- Students will effectively communicate scientific findings in multiple formats to diverse audiences.
- Students will be able to work effectively in groups, collaborating professionally with diverse individuals in interdisciplinary settings.
- Students will describe the inter-relationships between humans, climate, coastal waters, and ocean systems.
- Students will recognize how human identities influence the process, interpretation, and application of science.
